More About The Circuit

We are an ecumenical circuit located in North Hertfordshire and South Bedfordshire, 16 miles across and 14 miles north/south, with excellent road and rail links—commuter territory. We have over 700 members scattered across 11 churches in a mixture of villages and towns, old and new, small and large.

The churches in this Circuit are grouped into two sections, the north and the south. The south section of the Circuit has two Methodist churches (Benington; High Street Stevenage) and three Local Ecumenical Projects (LEP) (All Saints Stevenage; St Hugh & St John Stevenage; Trinity Knebworth). The north section has three Methodist churches (Baldock; Letchworth Garden City, a church on 2 sites, Central and Norton; Pirton; Stotfold) and two LEPs (Christchurch Hitchin; St. Faith’s Hitchin). Two LEPs are with the United Reformed Church, three are with the Anglican church. The Circuit also employs a part-time administrator and a part-time treasurer. Some of the churches also employ their own lay workers.

There are currently two full time Methodist presbyters, living in each section; one is currently minister for the LEP Christchurch. They are sharing the superintendent role during 2022/23. There are authorised ministers in the other four LEPs.
